Freelance Jumpstart Masterclass

A Clear Step by Step Roadmap to the Business of Freelancing

Learn What School Doesn’t Teach You About Business

I wanted to learn how to build a business so I did what most people do and enrolled in a graduate program for business. The information was good but I found they were teaching us how to work for another organization but what if you want to build your own business?

The problem wasn’t the information, it was the application of the information. I took everything I learned and adapted it to the life of a creative entrepreneur and received desirable results.

I want to teach you everything I’ve learned in my MBA program and experience as a freelancer to help you learn efficiently.

Know Exactly What To Charge For Each Project

When booking a client they will ask the most popular question ever in the business of freelancing, “how much do you charge?” Just hearing the question fills some people with anxiety and nervousness. You may be nervous about 2 things, (1) undercharging for your services which means you earn less than what you may receive at a day job and (2) scaring the client off by setting your price too high.

In the past, rather than coming up with a process to value my services I made up my pricing on the spot. I soon found making up my pricing was a big mistake and led to more work than pay. I thought I had to make a decision about what to charge, however pricing is not a decision, pricing is a strategy.

Based upon the nature of the project and your income strategy there is a way to calculate your rate that creates a win for you and prove your worth to your client.

Become Invincible To Unexpected Setbacks

Many of you reading this at the moment have an idea or the thought to start your own business. I started from the beginning, studying what it takes to legally start a business, reading blogs online, and even obtained an MBA. I quickly realized 20% of my time was spent creating and learning while the other 80% was spent on administrative tasks such as customer service, marketing, bookkeeping for taxes, accounting, meetings, writing proposals, invoicing, and other items that catch most freelancers off guard.

What if you see the answer key to future tests that threaten your business? The freelance jumpstart course empowers you with a clear plan and community of other entrepreneurs to equip you with the tools to overcome any problem that may hinder your business growth.

No More Fighting On Job Boards

How do you find clients? Like many others, you may have signed up on a freelance job board websites and advertised your services. When I took this same action I soon found I was spending all of my time competing with other freelancers for the attention of a client who only cared about the lowest price. It was a race to the bottom, and I needed to rise to the top.

I wanted to spend my time getting paid for my creative work not trying to “convince” someone to pick me and possibly pay. Again I discovered I needed to change my perspective and strategy; I didn’t need to find clients, I needed to attract clients.

As I changed things in my business I was not only able to create a waiting list of clients but I was able to choose the client that was best fit for my business and goals.

A Side Hustle Is Necessary

Have you ever worked at a company and look forward to getting a raise during your next review but when that time came you were told you could not get one because of the “economy” or the company is “running lean”. Those factors may have been true but that doesn’t mean you as an individual employee did not produce.

What if you did not have to depend on someone else’s evaluation to give yourself a raise. What if you could give yourself a raise?

I spent years learning everything I could about business and eventually my side hustle matched what I brought in the same as my day job. The new source of income made me no longer dependent upon a single employer and you can do the same.
